Your Mission

As an Associate Google Workspace Deployment Engineer, you will work collaboratively with a team of deployment engineers plus, change managers and project managers to efficiently and successfully execute on the deployment of Google Workspace to an organization. You are able to understand and configure Google Workspace in the best manner for the Customer’s use cases and effectively train Customer admins on the Google Workspace admin capabilities and any configured integrations.

You’re also hands-on, able to comprehensively test/troubleshoot and build functioning prototypes that prove out ideas, and build confidence in the solutions you advocate.

You will be an established contributor within the team and will develop a reputation with Customers for the quality of your work. You will demonstrate repeated delivery of projects successfully.

Expectations

Communication - Can articulate an issue concisely, can weigh the pros and cons, and can advocate a position based on reasoned argument.

Customer Facing - This is a very Customer-facing role. You will usually interact with Customers on a daily basis. You will participate in Customer meetings to guide the Customer through this transition and complete project tasks. You will present prototypes and create slideshows and documentation to build trust, confidence, and consensus both externally and internally.

Possible Travel - 1-5% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.

Work Timings - This role requires availability for evening calls when necessary to support cross-timezone collaboration, address urgent project requirements, or attend scheduled evening team meetings.

Onboarding/Training - The first 3-6 months will be mostly dedicated to learning through shadowing and to encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant individuals. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date.

Job Requirements

Certificates:

Google Workspace Certified or able to complete within the first 90 days of employment

Useful Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders
Able to take initiative, identify areas for improvement, and begin tasks without constant supervision
Experience producing technical assets or writing technical documentation
Inherent troubleshooting skillset
- A natural curiosity and logical approach to identifying issues, analyzing symptoms, and working towards solutions.
Eagerness to learn and highly motivated to absorb new technologies, processes, and best practices quickly
Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for Google Workspace deployments. Precision is required, as overlooking minor aspects can cause major production issues.
Time management with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and keep track of various deployment action items and follow ups.

Hands-on experience with Google Workspace
Ability to recommend cloud-native approaches to solve Customer business and technical challenges
Understanding of best practices, design patterns, and reference architectures with an uncanny ability to recommend these as needed
