QA Engineer
Yerevan, AM
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer to join Insight's Application Development department. This is a department role rather than a position on a single customer project: the engineer will work across concurrent and successive engagements and is expected to act in the best interest of Insight's stakeholders and customers on each of them. This role is ideal for a test automation engineer with solid Playwright fundamentals who already uses AI agents and coding assistants in daily testing work, can stand up their own CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, takes ownership of the quality of the work in front of them, fixes problems they find rather than waiting for someone to assign them, and contributes to the direction of the team. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior engineers and technical leads on their engagements, Application Development leadership, and customer stakeholders to ensure project success from initial definition through final delivery.
Required Credentials
- Professional QA and test automation experience on web applications and APIs, with a demonstrated record of building automated suites that run in CI
- Hands-on experience testing applications deployed on Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Required Qualifications
- End-to-end test automation with Playwright and TypeScript
- Testing agentic AI systems: writing evaluations for agent workflows, tool calls, and model outputs where results are non-deterministic
- Building and running AI agents for test generation, execution, and triage, using frameworks such as Google ADK
- Daily use of AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, with the judgment to verify and correct generated output
- Building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that run test suites, publish results, and enforce quality gates
- API test automation against REST services
- SQL for data validation against relational databases
- Test case design and test planning for web frontends and backend services
- Initiative: identifying defects, coverage gaps, and risks and acting on them without waiting for direction
- Collaboration: contributing to test strategy discussions, code reviews, and team quality practices
- Clear written and verbal communication with Insight and customer stakeholders
Useful Qualifications
- Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification
- Testing asynchronous and event-driven systems
- Performance and load testing (k6, JMeter)
- Accessibility testing against WCAG
- Mobile test automation
- Experience in government or regulated environments
Scope of Work Delivery Expectations
Below covers the scope of work we anticipate this role supporting. The engineer will work across multiple Insight customer engagements over time, and the scope on any one engagement is set by its SOW and is subject to change.
Scope and Solution Expectations:
- Build and maintain Playwright end-to-end suites and API test suites for the components assigned to them, and keep them reliable enough to run on every change
- Write and run evaluations for agentic workflows: agent task completion, tool-call correctness, guardrails, and regression across prompt and model changes
- Build and run their own agents for test generation, execution, and triage within the department's agent-driven delivery procedures, and remain accountable for the correctness of everything those agents produce
- Create and maintain the GitHub Actions workflows that run their suites and enforce quality gates, and contribute to the engagement's wider CI/CD pipelines
- Identify problems in code, test coverage, or process and fix them or drive them to resolution without waiting for assignment
- Act in the best interest of Insight's stakeholders and customers, and raise risks and conflicts to the technical lead early
- Contribute to leading the team: participate actively in test strategy discussions and code reviews, share what they learn about testing agentic systems, and help onboard new engineers
- Support UAT cycles, defect triage, and release readiness, and report on coverage for the components they own
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers promptly to the technical lead and Application Development leadership
